The online catalog is where you'll find information on books, videos, masters theses, and journal and newspaper subscriptions at Prescott College as well as all of the libraries in the Yavapai Library Network. We encourage our students to take full advantage of all available options, including creating book lists (i.e., a bibliography), requesting a
book from our library (and other
libraries in our county system, available to on-campus students only),
and placing a hold on books currently checked out. Here are some of the features to look for:
"MY ACCOUNT" allows you to check the due date on your books, check the status of a book on hold, and renew your books.
"SEARCH BY" change this to a Series search; search for Prescott College - you'll find all of our Masters theses.
"LIMIT THIS LIST BY" This Library Only will limit your search to books at Prescott College
"ADD TO MY LIST" creates a list of books which you can print
or e-mail (we recommend using the Plain Text format) to yourself, your
advisor, etc. When you e-mail the list, the return e-mail address is "Your
local library" - keep in mind that the recipient may not know
it's coming from you!
"PLACE HOLD" places a hold on the first available copy of
a book, which may or may not be from Prescott College. Off-Campus students
should be careful with this option, as we cannot mail books from other
libraries.
"REQUEST COPY" allows you to request a specific copy of
a book (you can be sure it's a Prescott College-owned copy), whether
the book is available, or if it's currently checked out.
- Click on the book title to see which library owns the book
"Request" the Prescott College copy
- You will be asked for your library
card #
- Click on "Request" again at the bottom of the page
- Then, "Return
to Searching" or "Logout and Return"
Note: If you haven't been asked for your library card #, we won't
know who you are. If you're asked to type in an e-mail address,
you may
be creating "My List" rather than requesting books.
Your request will automatically be sent to the Circulation Desk, and
the books will be mailed to you.
"SEARCH THE WEB" look for this link on the left side of the full book information screen; the catalog will do a Google search on your subject!
