The Visual Arts program curriculum introduces students to the importance, impact, and influence of the Visual Arts upon the individual and society. From basic craft through advanced theoretical studies, the curriculum establishes a foundation of ethics, responsibility, philosophy, and craft. The program builds upon this foundation so that students develop technical competence simultaneously with personal confidence, ensuring that students have a clear sense of direction in their future Visual Arts pursuits.
Emphasizing experiential learning, many Visual Arts courses have field components ranging from on-site technical practice, visits to museums and galleries, interviews with internationally known artists, participation in conferences and lectures, and collaboration with students from other programs internationally.
