Equipment Borrowing Policies and Procedures
Please thoroughly review the following policies and procedures before making a reservation.
Who can borrow equipment?
Faculty, staff and students are permitted to borrow equipment for College courses and events. We do not provide equipment for personal use.
While the IRT staff knows and recognizes many Prescott College community members, we can not keep track of everyone. Please be prepared to present some form of ID when picking up equipment.
Location of equipment/hours for pickup and return
All equipment, including laptops, projectors, TVs, VCRs, cameras, extension cords, etc.
Pick up and return to the Crossroads Technology Center (office located in back of the Library computer lab, AKA fishbowl) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours pick up and return is not supported by IRT nor the Library staff. Please plan accordingly to ensure you get the equipment you need.
Borrower obligations/agreement
- Reservations should be placed at least one hour in advance. We are not able to guarantee last-minute service.
- Equipment is to be picked up and returned at the times indicated on your reservation.
- Equipment is to be returned in the same condition it was received, including all cables, adapters, remotes etc.
- Borrowing Prescott College equipment is a privilege that may be revoked at the discretion of the Director of IRT for improper care, abuse or failure to abide by the above policies and procedures.
How to Make a Reservation
- Access the online equipment schedule.
- Review the list of available equipment (see sample below). Equipment is listed alphabetically by date. Reservations are indicated by an "R" and are shaded in red. Clicking on a resource's name in the left column will launch a pop-up window where you enter contact information and select the time and duration of the reservation.
- Place the reservation.
- Each piece of equipment requires an individual reservation.
- Reservations that span multiple days require multiple reservations. For example, borrowing a laptop Monday afternoon and returning it Friday morning requires 3 reservations—one each for the first and last day's reservations and one that spans the multiple days in between (a recurring reservation). IRT will be working to improve the multi-day reservation process during the summer as this is the trickiest and least intuitive part of the system.
- After you submit your reservation an email will be sent to you as confirmation.
- It is possible to modify a reservation by clicking on the "R" as long as you do this before the start of the reservation.
If you have questions, comments or suggestions as you begin using this tool, please let us know. Or stop by IRT during normal business hours and we will be happy to show you how to make a reservation.
