Prescott College Alumni Association
Welcome from the PCAA Board President
Maggie McQuaid '75
I joined the Prescott College Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2010, and was elected President in 2012. It’s something I never would’ve foreseen when I first came to the college as a 17-year-old freshman in 1969. But for me, like for so many others, Prescott College has been all about opening new windows, chewing on new ideas, challenging myself and challenging others. Along with a well-rounded liberal arts education, Prescott College simply taught me how to learn. It led me to jobs as diverse as public health promotion in Honduras as a Peace Corps Volunteer, doing social work in inner-city Phoenix, and being a legal investigator in Alaska. More importantly, it gave me deep and life-long friendships with people who have moved and changed the world.
Prescott College was my first experience with sustainable community, and it continues to be just that. Being a part of the alumni association has helped me keep in touch with old friends from the student and faculty communities, and more importantly, it has given me the opportunity to meet and work with remarkable people from all eras of the college. I have had the pleasure of seeing the college grow and change over the years, and being able to be a small part of that change. I’ve been very fortunate to be able to witness firsthand how Prescott College has become a stable, dynamic, and relevant institution under the leadership of College President Dr. Kristin Woolever.
I hope that membership in the Alumni Association will prove as rewarding to all alumni. We can all be proud of the work we did as students, and we have all benefitted greatly from the sense of community and commonality we found here. I welcome you all to this page, and invite you to take your seat at our table.
How do I join the PCAA?
Every individual that has ever graduated from or attended classes at Prescott College (RDP, ADP, MAP) is considered an alumnus and has active membership status in the Prescott College Alumni Association (PCAA). Members of the PCAA enjoy benefits such as voting for the PCAA Board of Directors (and a chance to be a board member!), in addition to inclusion in the PCAA Alumni Directory.
Although we do not accept dues for membership into the Prescott College Alumni Association,we do encourage you to support the Annual Scholarship Fund. Your generosity will ensure that current students can benefit from the unique experience and expertise Prescott College offers. Your gift is dedicated to student scholarships. Last fiscal year, donors like you contributed approximately $250,000 towards helping students realize their dreams and goals. You can take pride in knowing you can touch someone's life and make a difference.
