So what's happening at PC these days? The Crossroads Center is going up up UP right across the creek from our little Alumni Office. Students are helping to build an amphitheater on the west side of the Center, and those friendly PC librarians are rarin' to move across the street to their new home in the Center this fall.
On the alumni front, we are holding elections for four vacant seats on the alumni board of directors, and are already planning for Coming Home Weekend 2004, October 22-24. As always, we're looking for alumni news and updates, so keep those e-mails coming!
Finally, our fiscal year is coming to a close on June 30th. How's about a little something for Prescott College this year? We gladly accept donations for the Annual Fund, the Endowment, the Crossroads Center, scholarships, kayaks, books, computers...I mean, anything...online at www.prescott.edu/giving. Or, give me a call at 877-350-2100 x 4502, or send in your donation in that handy remittance envelope found in each issue of Transitions. We appreciate all your alumni support!
Thumbs up to a great summer!

Joshua Caine Anchors’ (MAP ’98) book, Regarding Hwange and Other Matters of Perception, was recently published, based on his experiences as an environmental Peace Corps Volunteer in Zimbabwe. The book can be accessed at www.publishamerica.com/books/4804. The following is a brief description:
In the heart of Zimbabwe safari country, Siweti Mathe learns to translate his fear into art, Lucky Mapfuwa feels the sweetness of liberation for a single day, Steve and his family face the harsh realities of an unpredictable terrain, Ellie Sibanda fights off hungry elephants and greedy headmasters to sustain her family, and Anna discovers only emptiness in her escape to Africa. This is a landscape where pangolins reflect on their meaning late into the night and family safari vacations go awry. Touching upon many of the essential yet enigmatic relationships between humans and the land they live upon, Regarding Hwange offers an indelible glimpse into a wilderness of perceptions that can be both illuminating and tragic.
