Farewall, fair Prescott...
My first duty three years ago as alumni director was to ride along on the alumni river trip on the Diamond Creek section of the Colorado. My on-the-job initiation included one participant twisting her ankle while stepping out of the raft at our first camp, an amazingly strong sand storm for an entire restless night, and a flipped raft.
And one of my final glamorous duties as alumni director this past week was helping to clean out a groover from the most recent alumni river trip.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that from start to finish, this job has taken me to places and presented me experiences that I never imagined I would have.
And so, if I must leave PC, at least I get to go back to school! I will be a student once again this fall at the University of Arizona in Tucson where I will study creative writing for the next two years. I never would have pursued this lifelong dream had it not been for Prescott College, for all my mentors and friends, and for this amazingly supportive community.
I wish that I could have gotten to meet the many of you who I've known only through e-mail or over the phone. Best wishes to you all, and thanks for a wonderful three years!
I'm really, really, reeeeeaaallllly going to miss Prescott College.

Keep the PC Spirit alive!

I accepted a new museum position in El Paso, TX and moved the 1,500 miles from Tennessee. Upon arrival in Texas, I also started a new chapter in my goal to be a working artist. I got confirmation of acceptance into the Union Avenue Fiber and Art Gallery to sell hand-dyed and handspun yarn and jewelry. aspens2004@yahoo.com

What's with the name?
"Biscuit" is a nickname for Prescott that locals often use. When out-of-towners visit, you'll often hear people explaining the proper pronunciation of "Prescott" as, "'Preskit' sounds like 'Biskit'." “The Biscuit” was chosen from among eight names by alumni vote in February 2003, and was submitted by alumnus Michael Shay (RDP ’99).
