AlumniAlumni Recruitment Network

Prescott College Alumni Volunteer Networks

The goal of the Office of Alumni Relations is to provide all alumni the intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and social benefits of the college community while also offering a myriad of opportunities in which to participate. In order to foster a stronger connection and to keep alumni engaged in meaningful service, the following alumni volunteer networks have been developed.  These new networks will provide opportunities for dialogue, sharing knowledge, volunteer service, social interaction and philanthropy.

ASK: Alumni Sharing Knowledge Network: Developing a network to provide career mentoring services to current students and recent alumni.

Act as a Career Mentor:  Connect with both Prescott College alumni and Prescott College students in order to answer career-related questions and share career information. Career Mentors will be asked to submit career profiles which will be posted on a secure website.  PC students and alumni will be reviewed for eligibility based upon their interest in exploring careers for their program of study and/or exploring careers in other areas.

Participate in Career Seminars:  The goal of alumni-student career seminars is to introduce graduating students to the widest range of career possibilities and information.  Alumni return to campus to share their successes in the working world as well as round out the student’s academic experience with “real world” advice and direction.  Career seminars focus on preparing students with realistic ideas of what, where, and how they can use their unique PC background.

Alumni Writer’s Club Network: Re-connecting alumni and current students, faculty and staff through submissions to local papers and newsletters.

Alumni Blog:

Assist current and prospective students with information about possible careers options by contributing to a quarterly blog feed which will be posted to the PC website.
The Raven Review:

Submit articles and connect with current Prescott College students by sharing life experiences.

ECOS & Trails Home eNewsletters:

Share a connection to other Prescott College alumni and current students and parents by contributing to the alumni newsletter, ECOS and parent newsletter, Trails Home.

Alumni Legacy Project Network:  Supporting efforts to create a bright legacy for Prescott College in the form of scholarships, innovative academic programs, and facilities.

Alumni Recruitment Network: Connect with your fellow alumni and assist ADGP & RDP Admissions by joining the Alumni Recruitment Network! The premise of the Alumni Recruitment Network is based on the idea that individuals who already have a relationship with Prescott College are best qualified to serve as representatives for the College within their own communities.

*Meet with counselors at no more than five schools/colleges in your community

*Make presentations to classes of students if possible – this will vary by school.

*Host one small-scale Admissions Information Meeting in November (if your city is targeted)

*Participate in one or more college fairs that may take place in your area

*Make yourself available for contact by counselors and students from your schools

In addition to serving as the liaison with the new community networks, the Office of Alumni Relations will continue to oversee alumni trips and activities and organize alumni events on and off campus including social gatherings, alumni mentoring days, and alumni student-recruitment activities in conjunction with the admissions offices.

Alumni Orientation Network: Lead a Wilderness Orientation group. (Note: Wilderness First Responser Certificate and proof of successful outdoor leadership required.)

CONTACT: Marie Smith, Office of Alumni Relations for more information!

Note:  Volunteers will be invited to join a web space designed specifically for their network.
