Julie Munro, M.S. - Faculty

Julie has enjoyed teaching and learning at Prescott College for decades. Her primary focus is in adventure education with her roots in experiential education and extended field courses. She has worked with groups of all ages, instructing a variety of technical outdoor pursuits. She has nine seasons with Outward Bound and a number of years teaching outdoor education with private and public school groups in the western states. She also holds a Secondary Teacher's Certification in Arizona for Earth Science and instructs courses that develop student's skills at teaching and facilitating. She greatly appreciates watching others cultivate their love of wild places and the self discovery that takes place in these natural and experience-based settings. She also has a passion and extensive background in yoga and teaches courses that incorporate yoga with outdoor pusuits. Julie has approximately 1000 hours of training as a yoga teacher and nearly 2000 hours of teaching experience. She is the director of a teacher training school that is certified by the Yoga Alliance, which allows her to offer 200 hour yoga teacher certification programs at Prescott College.
Julie also has experience with conference and event planning and is currently gearing up to host the Rocky Mountain Regional Conference for the Association of Experiential Education during the spring of 2014. This confernece will be based in prescott and include the active involvment of prescott College students as presenters and logistics coordinators.
