Kate brings a passion for community development and self-empowerment to Prescott College. Academic areas of interest include positive psychology, women’s health and body image. Kate has lived throughout the West and been involved in environmental and youth activism for more than a decade. After relocating to Prescott in 2006, Kate developed a girls’ empowerment program for local public schools and founded the non-profit Girls Alliance. She has studied women’s societal roles in Dominica, West Indies and counseled women working through body image and self-worth issues. As a graduate of the MAP Program, Kate understands the triumphs and challenges of self-directed learning. Kate is an avid runner, mountain biker and lover of the outdoors. She also enjoys spending time with her family hiking and camping throughout the west.
