50 Years of Shared History Exhibit at Prescott Public Library

It’s up to you in ’62! To Open the Door in ’64!

Visit the Prescott Public Library Viewerie throughout the month of April to see the Prescott College "50 Years of Shared History" display. It seems not many people are aware that the College was founded by and for the people of Prescott Arizona.  In March 1962, the Prescott College Founding Fund was established with goal of raising $1 million. With the slogan “It’s up to you in ’62! To Open the Door in ’64!” Congregationalist Reverend Dr. Charles Franklin Parker and a team of volunteers brought the local community together. Prescott College opened its doors to students for the first time in the fall of 1966, and has remained a fixture of the local community, sharing 50 years of history with its hometown and namesake, continuing to practice its unique brand of experiential education.
