Free Expression: Radical Bodies
Dance Club is to provide an open and inclusive space for the PC community to explore movement, self-expression, and co-creation. At our weekly sessions, we explore a wide range of movement styles including, but not limited to: improvisational dance, modern dance, hip-hop, Contact Improvisation, Butoh, West African dance, 5 Rhythms, and movement meditation. When funding permits, additional workshops with guest artists/teachers will be held for the PC and Prescott communities.
In addition, there are opportunities for those who are interested to perform. We intentionally explore dance as it relates to topics such as gender, sexuality, social justice, psychology, and the environment. This is an open club, and we encourage students of all backgrounds to join us in exploring our bodies and selves through dance in a safe, supportive community space.
