Off-Campus Housing
Most Prescott College students live off campus in Prescott where housing, amenities and the College are all in short distance from each other. Students with vehicles sometimes choose to live in nearby towns such as Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Skull Valley or Williamson.
Prescott College presents living options with trusted landlords for students who are interested in dormitory-style or communal living off-campus. The College has dealt with a number of landlords regularly over the years. Some of these residences feature live-in managers; one is a residential health and wellness learning community for students in recovery for drugs and alcohol that includes recovery support programs.
The College also lists general housing options with private landlords. Most of the resources we list feature housing within two miles of Prescott College. Prescott Craigslist, rental agencies, and the local paper, The Prescott Daily Courier, classified listings can help your search.
Students living off-campus may purchase a meal plan from the Prescott College Café.
Prescott College Guarantor's Agreement (Third Party Agreement)
Prescott College offers a Guarantor's Agreement, assuring that the College stands behind the student and that the student's obligations to the landlord will be met (up to the amount of one month's rent). Students are responsible for reimbursing any costs the College pays on their behalf, and for paying a processing fee, before they can continue at Prescott College or have official transcripts prepared.
The Housing Coordinator is available to mediate with students and landlords, or students and roommates, to help find satisfactory solutions concerning rental and living arrangements. The Coordinator also makes the decision on whether the student has or has not fulfilled their obligations. The Coordinator has full authority to assess unmet financial obligation by the student.
Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act
This is an excellent tool for all tenants and landlords in Arizona. Student Life recommends that you know your rights as a new member of this community. This booklet is published by Jan Brewer, Arizona Secretary of State.
