Benefits Summary

Human Resources Note

This summary is intended to provide a quick snapshot of the benefits available to employees at Prescott College.  Additional pertinent details and requirements may be obtained from the Office of Human Resources and/or relevant College policy documents.


Eligibility

All new full-time employees become eligible to participate in the fringe benefit plan(s) at the first of the month following a 30-day waiting period.  Employees may elect to include their spouse or domestic partner and/or qualified dependents. 

All new part-time employees become eligible to participate in the Discretionary Time Off (DTO) and Holiday Pay benefits at the first of the month following a 30-day waiting period.  Based on their current work schedule, part-time employees may receive pro-rated DTO and Holiday Pay.


Medical Coverage (United Health Care)

The College’s group medical plan utilizes United Health Care’s Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).  For more information on United Health Care: www.myuhc.com.


Dental Coverage (Principal)

The College’s group medical plan utilizes Principal’s Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).  For more information on Principal: www.principal.com.


Vision Coverage (Sight Care)

The College’s group medical plan utilizes Sight Care’s Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).  For more information on Sight Care: www.sightcareaz.com.


Employee Assistance Plan (PRO-EAP)

A confidential benefit that assists employees and their families in maintaining a healthy, productive life style.  The Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) provides no cost assessment, counseling, referral and follow-up services for mental health and counseling benefits.  For more information on PRO-EAP: www.proeap.com.


Life Insurance (Principal)

The College provides $15,000.00 in term life, accidental death and dismemberment coverage at no additional cost to the employee.


Short-Term and Long-Term Disability (Principal)

The College provides both a short-term and long-term disability benefit for qualifying accidents or illness at no additional cost to the employee.


Naturopathic Benefit (Prescott College)

Employees may elect a College sponsored benefit that reimburses 75% of any naturopathic bill up to a $300 maximum per plan year.  Dependent coverage may also be elected.


Cafeteria Plan (Section 125 of the IRS Code)

Employees may elect to have qualifying withholdings (e.g., health insurance premiums) withheld on a pre-tax basis. 


Flexible Spending Accounts (Admin Pro)

Employees may elect to participate in a salary reduction plan that allows employees to pay for non-reimbursed health care and dependent care eligible expenses with pre-tax dollars.  For more information on Admin Pro: www.adminpro.com.


Retirement (TIAA/CREF)

The first of the month following a 30-day waiting period, the College will contribute four percent (4%) of every qualifying employee’s salary to the Teacher’s Insurance & Annuity Association / College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA/CREF) on the employee’s behalf.  In addition, employees may elect to make a tax deferred contribution via payroll deduction.    The vesting period is three years.  For more information on TIAA/CREF: www.tiaacref.com.

Employees may enroll in supplemental insurance.

Educational Benefit (Prescott College)

Eligible employees, spouse or domestic partner and/or qualified dependents enrolling in Prescott College programs may receive a tuition waiver. Eligibility requirement for this benefit is one year of full-time employment.  In addition, Prescott College participates in two tuition exchange programs with other colleges and universities.  For more information on the Tuition Exchange Organization www.tuitionexchange.org. or Council of Independent Colleges Tuition Exchange Program www.cic.org visit their websites as listed.


Additional Benefits

Additional benefits may be available to all employees (i.e. discounts at theme parks, discounts at local financial institutions).  Contact Human Resources for the latest deals.


Discretionary Time Off (DTO) Excludes Faculty

Eligible employees may accrue 21 days of Discretionary Time Off (DTO) a year after 30 days of employment at 6.46 DTO hours per pay period.  After five years of continuous employment, an additional five days are given.  Additional days are given at the executive level.  Maximum rollover to the next calendar year is 45 days (360 hours).
