World eBook Library is the world’s largest digital archive of PDF eBooks and eDocuments.

The world's largest online library of books, Questia provides access to the world's largest online full text collection of scholarly books and journal articles in the humanities and social sciences, plus magazine and newspaper articles. The Virtual Library is the oldest catalog of the web, started by Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of html and the web itself. Unlike commercial catalogs, it is run by a loose confederation of volunteers, who compile pages of key links for particular areas in which they are expert; even though it isn't the biggest index of the web, the VL pages are widely recognized as being amongst the highest-quality guides to particular sections of the web.

National Academies Press publishes over 200 books a year on a wide range of topics in science, engineering, and health, capturing the most authoritative views on important issues in science and health policy. You can read more than 3,000 books online FREE.

PROFESSIONAL WRITING STYLES

IN THE HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Choosing which professional writing style (and manual) to use is not an exact science. Whatever style you choose, you should be able to make a convincing case for why you chose it, and the decision should be made in consultation with your graduate advisor. Here is a brief overview of the Humanitites and Social Sciences as well as some discipline-specific recommendations for choosing the appropriate writing style.

SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL LITERACIES

The MAP faculty have prepared a statement about Social and Ecological Literacies as the concept relates to MAP.

Examples from graduates of MAP on how they developed and incorporated SEL into the graduate program are available here.
