- Federal Pell Grants
Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's or professional degree. Eligibility is determined by the U.S. Department of Education and is based on information you provide on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). How much you receive depends on your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), Cost of Attendance (COA) and the number of credit hours for which you are enrolled. You may not receive Pell Grant funds from more than one school at a time. Starting Summer 2010 students will be eligible for year round Pell Grants.
- National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART)
The National SMART Grant is for undergraduate students who are enrolled in the third or fourth year of an eligible program* (or fifth year of a five-year program) and pursuing an eligible major with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. A student does not have to complete a rigorous secondary school program of study to be eligible for this grant.
To receive a National SMART Grant, a student must
• Be Pell Grant-eligible during the same award year;
• Be enrolled at least half-time;*
• Be in the third or fourth year* of an undergraduate
degree program (or fifth year of a five-year program);
• Be pursuing a major with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in
physical, life, or computer sciences, mathematics, technology,
engineering or a critical foreign language; or non-major single
liberal arts programs, and
• Have at least a 3.0 GPA as of the end of the second award year
and continue to maintain a 3.0 GPA that must be checked
prior to the beginning of each payment period (e.g., semester).
- Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
The ACG is for undergraduate students who are enrolled in the first or second year of an eligible program* in any field, who have completed a rigorous secondary school program of study,and who also have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the first year.
To receive an ACG, a student must
- Be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant during the same award year;
- Be a first- or second-year undergraduate student enrolled at least half-time in a degree program or in a certificate program of at least one year in length at a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution;
- Have completed a rigorous secondary school program of study; and
- if a first-year student, have completed secondary school after Jan. 1, 2006
- if a second-year student, have completed secondary school after Jan. 1, 2005 and have at least a 3.0 grade point average as of the end of his or her first academic year of undergraduate study.
- Federal LEAP Grant
Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership grants are awarded to undergraduate Arizona residents with very high need as determined by the FAFSA, based on availability of funds.
- Prescott College Grant
Need-based grant, awarded to undergraduate RDP and ADP students with the highest need. This grant is renewed for the duration of the students program. Students must attend at least half time to be eligible.
