Prescott College Merit and Need Based Scholarships

 

The Prescott College Institutional and Endowed Scholarship application is made available to currently enrolled Prescott College students once a year.

We are no longer accepting applications for the 08-09 Academic Year.

  • Frederick and Francis Sommer Fellowship
    The Frederick & Frances Sommer Fellowship is a gift to Prescott College to assist the academic and artistic endeavors of a senior Arts & Letters student. All Resident Degree Program students in the Arts & Letters Program are eligible to apply during their junior year.
  • RDP - National and Community Service Education Award
    Created to support Prescott College's legacy of community service and volunteerism by encouraging students active in National Service programs and eligible for National Service Education Awards to enroll at Prescott College, this scholarship matches awards such as Americorps Education Awards, National Civilian Community Education Awards, and Presidential Freedom Scholarships dollar for dollar.  To qualify, students possessing National Service Education Awards must be accepted to Prescott College and submit proof of their National Service Education Award eligibility along with the application for admission.  Prior to enrollment, Americorps Education Certificates must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office so that we may obtain the funds and provide our matching awards.
 
  • Merit Scholarships

          

          ADP - Adult Degree Program New Student Scholarship

Awarded to an ADP applicant who, completes his/her admissions file by the scholarship deadline (March 15, June 15, September 15 or December 15), and receives a 'superior' rating on his/her admissions application. This scholarship is renewable for up to four consecutive six month enrollments.

Average Annual Award $1000.

ADP - Adult Degree Program Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship

Open to Phi Theta Kappa members who will be attending Prescott College's Adult Degree Program as an undergraduate, first degree seeking student. This scholarship is renewable one additional year based on maintaining full-time enrollment at Prescott College as an Adult Degree Program undergraduate.

Annual Award $1000.

ADP - Community College Transfer Scholarship

Awarded to ADP applicants who complete their admission file by the scholarship deadline (March 15, June 15, September 15 or December 15), have 48 semester credits from a community colllege, and receive a 'superior' rating on their admissions application. This scholarship is renewable for up to four consecutive six month enrollments.

Annual Award $1000.

MAP - New Graduate Student Scholarship

Awarded to a MAP applicant who, completes his/her admissions file by the scholarship deadline (November 15 for spring admissions, May 15 for fall admission), and receives a 'superior' rating on his/her admissions application. This scholarship is renewable for up to four consecutive semesters.

Average Annual Award $2000.

PhD - New Student Scholarship

Awarded to a PhD applicant who, completes his/her admissions file by the scholarship deadline (November 15 for spring admissions, May 15 for fall admission), and receives a 'superior' rating on his/her admissions application. This scholarship is renewable for up to four consecutive semesters.

Average Annual Award $2000.

RDP - John Wesley Powell Scholarship

Freshman scoring 1200 and above on SAT verbal/critical reading, and math OR 27 and above on the ACT are automatically eligible.  Freshman scoring 1000-1190 SAT verbal/critical reading and math OR 22-26 ACT may be eligible based on the overall strength of the application. Students lacking test scores are considered on the overall strength of the application for  admission. Students must be accepted for admission as a freshman to be considered for this scholarship.

$4000 per year, renewable for up to 4 years.

RDP - Transfer Scholarship

Transfer applicants with a demonstrated record of superior academic achievement and promise will be considered for this scholarship. Students must be accepted for admission as a transfer student. 

Award up to $4,000.

RDP - Prescott College Environmental and Social Justice Scholarship

Applicants who have participated in environmental and social justice activities such as  Student Conservation Association, community service programs, volunteer programs, Amnesty International, Greenpeace, etc. and have demonstrated a record of superior academic  achievement and promise. Based on record of participation in eligible activities as presented in the admissions application and verified in writing by the sponsoring organization(s).

$2000 per year, renewable for up to 4 years.    

RDP - Dr. Charles Franklin Parker Founder's Scholarship

This scholarship, created to commemorate Prescott College's founder Dr. Charles Franklin Parker, is a matching scholarship that serves to increase the total value of scholarships offered prospective students who exhibit exceptional academic potential and is renewable up to four undergraduate years.  When the scholarship is paired with our John Wesley Powell Scholarship or our Transfer Scholarship, it is worth $2,000 per year.  When the scholarship is paired with the John Wesley Powell AND the Environmental Social Justice Scholarship, it is worth $3,000 per year.
