Seth Fairweather, Glass Artist

September 2 - October 1, 2011

On View: September 2 - October 1, 2011

“My work in the last year has revolved around solitude.  The technological explosion of the last few decades has essentially turned the world from a vast space into an easy manageable and navigable area.  Solitude is becoming increasingly harder to find, and has become easily confused with loneliness or other undesirable feelings.  Through objects, installations, and images, I attempt to create a space for the viewer to disconnect or disengage from the surrounding world and enter a more introspective state.  Considering individual relationships with the world as a whole and gaining a deeper understanding of the self are both historically associated with states of solitude.”  (Excerpt from the Seth Fairweather’s Exhibition proposal)
