On view: June 24 – July 30, 2011
Friday June 24, 2011: Artist talk 5:00 PM, Reception for the Artist 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Tim Anderson’s formal education in the visual arts includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Humboldt and a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma. “My main motivation for making art is to have fun.  When I cease to enjoy myself, or feel that art making has become a job, then I will give it up.  It is my hope that the viewer will receive as much enjoyment from the work as I had in its making.” Please visit www.timothyanderson.net to see examples of Tim’s work, including a wall drawing done in 2005 at ComPact Gallery.

“There is no specific narrative to my work, I like to think of it as an all-over composition, much like Jackson Pollock, but created with images, think Pollock meets Bosch in black and white.”

June 20 – 24, 10 AM – 4PM

Free Public Workshop with the Artist. During this workshop participants will work with the artist, Tim Anderson, to draw a 10’ x 18’ wall mural in the Prescott College Art Gallery at Sam Hill Warehouse.  Participants will work with the artist to develop the mural starting from images of plant, animal, and man-made forms, often an image will morph into combinations of these.  The design will then be projected and transferred to the wall.   Participants will work in graphite and sumi ink, using blending techniques to achieve the aesthetic goals of the mural.   The result will be as if a window were punched through to a reality where the rules of gravity, scale and function do not apply.
