They focus their efforts to build the organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of organizations that fight illiteracy, improve health services, foster economic development, and otherwise assist low-income communities.   Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent is responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of contracts and grants account expenditures in accordance with budgeted projections. Research issues, analyze data, prepare reports, make recommendations and meet with Principal Investigators from time to time.   Provide accurate monthly financial reports to Principal Investigators, Staff Accountant, and Chief Financial Officer.  Develop budgetary projections for review and make budgetary adjustments as needed. Responsible for primary authorization and oversight of purchasing, invoice processing and expense reimbursements for contracts and grants per budgets. Requires a broad knowledge of College policies, procedures, practices and organization.

Financial Management of Institutional Grants

  • Prepare quarterly reports for all institutional grants
  • Prepare other reports and special reporting where necessary
  • Invoice grant expenditures and draw down funds from granting agencies where appropriate
  • Reconcile posting of grants and awards and adjusts as necessary
  • Update monthly summary reports and reconcile to the general ledge
  • Draw federal award money from G5.
  • Maintains all grant financial records for temporarily and permanently restricted accounts
  • Corresponds with necessary grant funding agencies
  • Corresponds with Principle Investigator regarding financial status of grants
  • Review and sign off on grant related reimbursements and check requests
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience   (Return to top)


  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, or acquired skills during past work history
  • Strong commutation and customer service skills 
  • Knowledge of financial data analysis
  • Three years of related experience working with accounting and financial information
  • Must have adequate knowledge of business processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft products e.g. word, excel, advanced skills preferable
