Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Content Marketing Specialist will serve as an integral member of the marketing team. This position will be responsible for supporting the College’s marketing and communications strategy with responsibility for creating, designing, and deploying original web, electronic, and print communications pieces. The Content Marketing Specialist will champion the institution’s marketing strategy and incorporate community feedback, while helping develop best practices and maintaining high standards of design and copywriting. Additionally, the Content Marketing Specialist will serve as a project manager on an as needed basis.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities   (Return to top)

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, templates, and graphics for a variety of channels, including: digital ads, social media graphics, and print materials.
  • Utilize effective marketing strategies to create attractive, innovative, and appropriately branded designs.
  • Make website content updates and assist with website usability initiatives.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, direct mail, email, digital campaigns, etc.).
  • Draft marketing copy and content that is accurate, clear, and easy to comprehend.
  • Produce email templates, graphics, or other content as needed.
  • Proofread and copyedit.
  • Establish and maintain production quality standards to ensure consistency in the Prescott College brand.

Education: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism or closely related field.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience working as a graphic designer, marketing specialist, or in a similar role is required.

Qualifications: 

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and best practices.
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc. through a Windows-based platform.
  • CSS, HTML, JavaScript programming experience preferred.

 

  • Knowledge of printing and digital processing of colors (RGB, CMYK) and experience working with professional printing and production companies.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing activities (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/social media etc.) and market research methods.
  • Knowledge of web-based marketing tools and content management systems.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Experience developing marketing materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Skilled proficiency in editing and proofreading.

Preferred: 

  • Inbound marketing experience.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience supporting and serving historically underrepresented and underserved communities.
  • Web design or development experience.
  • Bilingual writing, translation and speaking skills.
