Mission of the Environmental Education Program
". . . mechanisms that link the youth ecological movements in the community with conservation efforts . . ."
The mission of the EEP is to participate in the formation of community leaders who possess a profound sense of place and the knowledge, skills, motivation, and confidence to be agents of change in their community and in the world. A new generation of community leaders is growing from this program. Their capacity to engage in dialog, to imagine, negotiate, motivate and collaborate with their peers, their elders, and governmental and non-governmental institutions is inspirational. In this collaborative effort, the EEP provides the mechanisms that link the youth ecological movements in the community with conservation efforts supported by the Center and other local, regional, national and international organizations.
