Sonoran Desert
The Sonoran Desert supports a unique assemblage of desert flora and fauna, many of which are important to the local Comcáac (Seri) and Mexican communities. The use of local plants by the Comcáac people has long been of interest to ethnobotanists, and populations of big horn sheep, desert tortoises, migratory birds, bats, insects and plants have been the subjects of study by many prominent American and Mexican researchers.
