Fees

 

Fees vary depending on accommodations, activities and support. Lodging fees include use of housing, bathroom, and kitchen facilities as well as access to library, internet and computers. Visitors who wish to use phone or fax must pay on a per call basis or (preferably) purchase phone cards to use at public phones. Boating fees vary depending on group size and destination.

Full house: 

Two bedroom, three bath house, air-conditioned, secure, private, access to the field station, across the street from the beach, private parking. Rates are for a maximum of 4 people.  Each additional person pays $15/night.

We require a 50% deposit from external user groups to hold a reservation.  ALL groups should arrange reservations and payment through Lorayne Meltzer (lmeltzer@prescott.edu) or Ed Boyer (eboyer@prescott.edu).

Boating

Prescott College Groups:

Our classes pay for gas, oil, and launch fees out of the course budgets when using our boat and boatman.  Cost is highly variable depending on number and length of trips.  Please communicate in advance with Co-directors to schedule and budget for boat outings.

Boatman$80/boat/day for second boat or for 1st and 2nd boat on weekends
Launch Fee$15/boat/day
Gas$75 - $200 depending on destination

Non Prescott College Groups:

Inshore - Pelican Island, Kino Bay, & Punta San NIcholas$210
Offshore - Tiburon, Turner, and Cholludo islands$280
Offshore - San Esteban, San Pedro Maritr islands or Ensenda Blanca$370

Other Fees

All Groups pay the following:

Seri Permits (for visiting Tiburon island)$2/person/day
Seri Guides (natural history guides for extended trips to the islands$100/day
Biosphere Reserve fee for visiting San Pedro Martir island$4.50/person/day
Gulf Island Reserve fee for visiting all islands (except Alcatraz)$2/person/day

Non-Prescott College Groups and Collaborative Research Groups also pay for:

Classroom rental for groups not staying at the Center$25/hour
Snorkel gear rental: Wetsuit, snorkel, mask, fins and booties$10/day,  $20/4days, $30/week
Program fee for first time station visitors and for logistical/research supportVariable
