Fees vary depending on accommodations, activities and support. Lodging fees include use of housing, bathroom, and kitchen facilities as well as access to library, internet and computers. Visitors who wish to use phone or fax must pay on a per call basis or (preferably) purchase phone cards to use at public phones. Boating fees vary depending on group size and destination.

Prescott College Groups

  • $10.00/person/day for visits that are less than block or quarter
  • $70/person/week
  • $250/person for a block course
  • $500/person for a semester course

Collaborative Research Groups and PC alumni

Full house

Two bedroom, three bath house, air-conditioned, secure, private, access to the field station, across the street from the beach, private parking. Rates are for a maximum of 4 people. Each additional person pays $15/night.

We require a 50% deposit from external user groups to hold a reservation.  ALL groups should arrange reservations and payment through Lorayne Meltzer (lmeltzer@prescott.edu) or Ed Boyer (eboyer@prescott.edu)..

Boating

Prescott College Groups

Our classes pay for Gas, oil and launch fees out of their course budgets when we use our boat and our boatman. Cost is highly variable depending on number and length of trips. Please communicate in advance with the Director to schedule and budget for boat outings using the cost guidelines.

  • Boatman: Boatman cost is included in use of the station if boating is done between 8am and 5pm Monday – Friday.
  • $75/boat/day for second boat or for 1st and 2nd boat on weekends
  • PLUS $75/night for overnight trips
  • Launch Fee: $20/boat/day
  • Gas: $75 - $400 depending on destination                                                        

Non-Prescott College Groups

Prices are per boat:

  • Albatros (14 pasenger maximum capacity)
  • Inshore - Pelican Island, Kino Bay and Punta San Nicholas $350 dollars Offshore – South Tiburon, Turner, and Cholludo islands $450 dollars Offshore – North Tiburon, San Esteban, San Pedro Maritr islands or Ensenda Blanca $550 dollars
  • Lobo (9 passengers maximum capacity)
  • Inshore - Pelican Island, Kino Bay and Punta San Nicholas $300 dollars Offshore - Tiburon, Turner, and Cholludo islands $400 dollars Offshore - San Esteban, San Pedro Maritr islands or Ensenda Blanca $500 dollars
  • Extra charges will be incurred for extra hours, long trips and overnights

Other Fees

All Groups pay the following

  • Seri Permits visiting Tiburon island = variable Seri Guides (natural history guides for extended trips to the islands) = variable (approximately 30/guide/day)     
  • Biosphere Reserve fee for visiting San Pedro Martir island = $4.50/person/day
  • Gulf Island Reserve fee for visiting all islands (except Alcatraz) = $2/person/day

Non-Prescott College Groups and Collaborative Research Groups also pay for

  • Classroom rental for groups not staying at the Center = $25/hour or $150/day
  • Snorkel gear rental: Wetsuit, snorkel, mask, fins and booties = $10/day; $ 20/4 days; $ 30/week
  • Program fee for first time station visitors and for logistical/research support = variable
