Student Worker Q&A: Vanessa Pruitt

Q: What is your favorite book?

A: I do not have a favorite book, but I do have a few favorite authors. I really enjoy reading books by Stephen King, James Patterson, Kurt Vonnegut and Khaled Hosseini.

Q: What is a fun fact about you?

A: I had a baby leopard shark given to me as a birthday gift. I named him Barney, but when he got too big for his tank, I donated him to an aquarium.

Q: What class are you particularly enjoying right now?

A: I am really enjoying Geography of the Western World. I've learning so much about different countries and their origin history, its really great!  As a class, we even came up with solutions to help save the the Amazon rain forest.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working in the library?

A: My favorite thing about working in the library is meeting new people and helping patrons.

Q: What do you think students should know about the library?

A: I don't think most students know all the resource they have available to them. The library has a huge collection of printed and online books. If there is something a student needs that the library doesn't have, a librarian can help them search for it through another library [see interlibrary loan]; then have it sent to Prescott College Library. The librarians are here to help!

Q: What is your favorite library electronic resource?

A: My favorite electronic resource from the library is the online citing sources. Its a great citation reference for writing research papers. It offers everything from MLA, APA, Chicago and many other citing styles.
