Green to Gold: Sustainable Cities, Healthy Local Economies

CONFERENCE MISSION:

To assist the communities of Arizona in creating "Sustainability Task Forces" that collaborate to build capacity in sustaining the vitality of economies, environments, and the special Quality of Life attributes of Arizona’s unique places.

NOTE: Representatives of County and Municipal Governments across Arizona and New Mexico will be attending and over half the seats were spoken

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:  

Ed Fox

TITLE OF ADDRESS: "Our  Energy Future: Reaching for Sustainability"

Ed is Vice-President of Arizona Public Service and former director of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.

Randy Hayes
TITLE OF ADDRESS: "A Green City Plan to Save the World"

Hayes is Sustainability Director for the City of Oakland, founder of the Rainforest Action Network, and producer/director of the award-winning film on Native American environmental issues "The Four Corners: A National Sacrifice Area."

Alisa Gravitz

Alisa is Executive Director of Co-Op America. Ms Gravitz helps industries get and stay "green", from stimulating increased recycled paper usage in the magazine industry to introducing solar energy for economies of scale and price reductions, and helping to reform predatory lending practies in the financial services sector.

CONFERENCE COORDINATORS:
Jan Bryan, CFP., First Affirmative Financial Network, and Mary Lin, M. Ed., co-founders of the the Prescott Socially Responsible Business Network (PSRBnet). Jan is a 16-year veteran in the field of socially responsible investing and has coordinated and presented at dozens of conferences and trainings sessions nationwide on sustainable and environmentally-friendly investing. Mary Lin, M. Ed., is the Marketing and Public Relations Director for Prescott College, which has been touted by Outside Magazine "for turning out smart grads with top-notch academic credentials and a healthy environmental ethos." Mary is a long-time advocate of sustainable and so-called "Green" business practices.
