PRESCOTT COLLEGE STUDENTS AWARDED CHELA FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Prescott - Three Prescott College students received scholarships from Chela Financial, one of the college's lenders, for the upcoming school year. Shirley Vaden, assistant director of financial aid for the Resident Degree Program, nominates three students a year for the annual award.

"These students were nominated for the award based upon their financial need and because of their history of school and community service," said Vaden.

Chela Financial awarded Shanti Leinow, an environmental studies major, Jay Krienitz, an environmental studies major, and Skye Annica, an integrative studies major, each $1,000 for the academic year.

Prescott College was the only college in Arizona to receive a total of three awards for its students, Vaden said.
