Camp Habitat www.northern.org (Click on “Camp Habitat” icon on left of home page)

WHO WE ARE

Camp Habitat is a nature education and ecology camp for kids located at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge in Fairbanks, Alaska. We provide four different programs, Nature Sprouts (ages 4-5), Nature Detectives (ages 6-7), Water Striders (ages 8-9), and Refuge Adventurers (ages 10-11). The camp allows students to explore a variety of different habitats and a diversity of animals, especially migratory birds. The refuge plays an important part in these animals and birds existence, and camp allows students to see the wildlife present in their own backyard and develop a connection to that environment. Through games and other hands-on, outdoor activities, we explore the ecosystems of Interior Alaska, the home of most of our participants. Camp Habitat helps youth discover what makes where they live special!
