Visual Studies

Visual Studies is for the student who wishes to concentrate on visual art critical theory and history while being immersed in a rigorous studio practice.  We offer a rich array of coursework in art history and contemporary theory and practice, including Art on the Periphery, Contemporary Perspectives in Photography, Religion and Spirituality in the History of Art, Critical Concepts in Contemporary Art.  Our studio and field courses also combine the development and practice of art-making with the study of the history, traditions, and theory that inform the creation of new work.
