Clinical Mental Health Counseling, MS

  • Official transcripts from the highest degree earned are required by the end of the first academic term. Official transcripts are also required for any graduate courses completed that meet transfer requirements. Master of Education, M.Ed., which includes: (Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Educational  Leadership, Education (Non-Cert), Elementary Education, Secondary Education, School Counseling, and Special Education (Mild/Moderate)

Teacher Certification Testing Requirements

• AEPA/NES Preparation (for Arizona certification).
• All students must pass the appropriate NES/AEPA subject knowledge exam prior to being admitted to any education professional preparation program unless the student:
  • Has earned a bachelor’s degree in the content area or;
  • Has earned 24 hours of credit in the content area
• Teacher candidates seeking alternative certification should first consult with the potential hiring school district to determine specific certification requirements.
• The Arizona Department of Education may recognize training and coursework that meets teacher certification requirements not indicated in this description. Please access the Arizona Department of Education website for further information.

  • Current Wilderness First Responder
  • Proof of Adventure Skill Competency
  • Documentation of 100 direct service hours that utilize adventure-based counseling interventions

Expressive Arts Therapy Certificate
