The inspired students and faculty drawn to Prescott College's mission make being a part of this incredible community both a joy and a privilege.
Steve is an emeritus professor at Prescott College who is excited to work with students as time permits. As the current Director of Standards Development and Accreditation, at the Association for Experiential education, he is well-positioned to mentor independent studies that involve the quickly evolving field of Adventure Education. Steve’s other areas of expertise include organizational leadership, interpersonal and group communication, and mediation and conflict resolution. When teaching on campus his courses are co-created with students and contain a compelling mixture of experiential activities, critical thinking, and current theory.
During the 25 years Steve worked full time at Prescott College he served as Dean of Resident Degrees, Director of Risk Management for Field Activities, and Chair of both the Adventure Education and the Human Development and Counselor Education Departments. Before coming to Prescott College, he worked for eleven years at the Voyageur Outward Bound School
Steve is past President of the Association for Experiential Education. He currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Wilderness Risk Managers Conference and the Safety Committee of the Board of Outward Bound USA.
