Invest in Place
$15 Million for Capital Projects
While many people at Prescott College are fond of saying “the world is our classroom,” we still need physical spaces in which to meet, study, exchange ideas, gather for various colloquia and orientations, and to accommodate more traditional modes of learning. Enhancing critical facilities will provide quality space commensurate with the quality of our students.
All proposed capital projects will be grounded in the core sustainability values of the College and vital integration of our place with our community and environment. We will incorporate a proposed $2 million energy efficiency plan to decrease energy expenses and greenhouse gas emissions as part of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment.
Academic Complex $10 MillionAcademic Complex $10 Million
Currently, the College spends significant resources reconfiguring buildings and structures to meet the needs of academic operations. An academic complex will allow the creation of ergonomic and pleasant, productive learning and work spaces to meet the needs of current and future curricular programming.

Labs: $1.5 MillionLabs: $1.5 Million
Well equipped labs are part of any scientific discipline, and key in studying the environment that surrounds us. The College has committed to completing a facilities improvement plan that will increase lab-based science instruction.
Classrooms: $1 MillionClassrooms: $1 Million
New classrooms need to be created and existing classrooms need to be updated to increase our capacity to meet new and emerging digital environment expectations.
Campus Commons and Signage: $.5 MillionCampus Commons and Signage: $.5 Million
In addition to our recently completed world-class sustainable student housing project, Prescott College has continued to develop the center of campus into a river of interlocking pavers and organically shaped seating and meeting areas. This “Commons” offers a sense of place that connects our students and staff to the surrounding environment as well as welcoming the local community.
Our eclectic campus, populated by a mix of repurposed and new buildings located in the midst of a mixed residential and commercial neighborhood, is confusing to many people trying to find their way around for the first time. A signage system has been developed and is ready for implementation.
