The graduate program of study for the Master of Education in Educational Leadership is an advanced specialization that prepares future school leaders for a career as a school principal or a school district administrator. Social Justice is at the heart of the work we do at Prescott College, and the rich variety of ethnic identity, languages, and cultural diversity in our country require clear, multiple and accessible pathways for children to experience success. This graduate program cultivates the knowledge and skills necessary for community development, solid leadership, and innovative problem solving. This graduate program challenges students to strengthen skills that foster parent-educator relationships, develop collective decision-making processes, and initiate other forms of democratic school community participation which have been historically inaccessible to many families and communities. The Educational Leadership M.Ed. program strives to offer cutting edge excellence so that educators may support communities, honor cultural differences, and help to ensure positive learning environments for students from all walks of life.

The Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree program is designed to:

  • experientially cultivate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required for school leaders, principals and school district administration
  • Maximize opportunities for professional development in shorter time periods
  • Students are invited and encouraged to explore education through the lenses of experiential education, social and environmental justice.
  • Lead to an Institutional Recommendation for the Principalship Certification in Arizona
